Doctor's Appointment
If there are still any of you out there who come past this blog every once in a while, I would ask for your prayers this morning. I have an appointment with a heart specialist (I think it's the cardiac surgeon) regarding my heart problem. It;s probably routine and the nest step in the process, but there has been bad communication with the heart people in general, and it has continued today. They said they had sent me a notice of an appointment in the mail, but I never received anything, and then - as before - they phone and see if they can squeeze me in on short notice. I never know if I have missed an appointment because I get nothing in the mail. It is frustrating.
For those of you who have wondered if I am still around, I am. As my friend Brian says, there is lots happening, but writing about it just doesn't happen, and so the blog is quiet. My wife is in Florida right now, avoiding the cold weather (-25 here this morning) and watching dolphins follow the boat, walking on the beach with her mom, and generally having a blast. The kids and I are still alive and talking to each other, which is no small miracle, it seems. Really, we're okay.

How did it go, Darren?
I'm taking a turn at single parenting during the first part of spring break. "Alive and talking to each other" is no small miracle, for sure. I know what you're talking about. Joyce is the patient one, not me.

Hi Darren,
I do check out your blog!
I hope and pray your appointment went well and that you will be restored to full health.
I don't know if you remember me - I'm Carrie Hilderman's cousin who sat next to you at Sting.
I am interested in coming to your Saturday night gathering...or is it for a certain group of people?

Heather - Thanks for the comment. You are certainly welcome to come on Saturday nights. We meet at 8pm at the Broadway Roastery on Broadway every other week. The next meeting is on March 10th. It would be great to see you there.
